Coronal Polish
After completing this two-day course through The Valley School For Dental Assisting in Encino or Downey, students earn a certificate in Coronal Polishing. This certificate is a requirement of the California Dental Board for unlicensed Dental Assistants, those Dental Assistants who are seeking to become an RDA, renew an RDA License, and/or perform coronal polishing on patients in a dental office
Day one includes lecture and practice on mannequins.
Day two includes a written exam, a clinical exam of coronal polishing, and clinical procedure.
*Homework: Student are required to complete a homework assignment of at least (3) three Coronal Polishing procedures on patients.
Students will use a typodont to practice fulcrum techniques, polishing, applying the correct amount of agents, and handpiece control. Students must wear personal protective equipment. Students will be responsible for getting their own clinical patients.
*VSDA Supplies all materials for this course.
*Students must use their own patients.
*If a clinical patient is not available on day one, the student can schedule the patient as homework in our facility or in an outside facility (paperwork provided).
